Intro
I love filmmaking, and am currently developing my skills for possible work within the film & television industry. I am completing a Television sub-major as part of my Creative Industries degree at Q.U.T. (all units completed so far include film too). I've also completed two independent short-filmmaking courses, and I have some filmmaking and acting experience too.
Motivations
I've been dreaming up ideas for films and TV shows since I was a kid. I figure you only live once, so hey- I might as well learn how to actually make my dreams a reality.
A major milestone for me was being a movie extra in Baz Luhrmann's film Moulin Rouge, filmed at Sydney Fox Studio's in 2000. Over the two weeks I worked there, I saw what goes on “behind the scenes” of a major movie set, and I fell in love! (Even after wearing a tight corset for 17 hours and filming in the rain, I still wanted to work there every day!)
Future Aspirations
To write and direct popular (to at least cult status) feature films/ television series. I would also like to write and direct documentaries, since I love uncovering new, interesting information that not many people know about, and presenting it in an entertaining way.
UNTIL THEN...
I will continue to practice and build up my skills by making short films when I can.
