Intro
I am currently completing an Entrepreneurship sub-major as part of my Creative Industries degree at Q.U.T., and have also completed an extra-curricular short course in Entrepreneurship as part of the Business Faculty's “Business Advantage” program.
I have started applying what I have learned to my own part-time business, which I set up to supplement my university scholarship income. I am a Certified Angel Intuitive™ Practitioner, and freelance writer- presently specialising in new age, magickal topics.
I also have past experience in sales and network marketing, having been raised in a family of network- marketers. I learned a lot about people and marketing from an early age, partly from the motivational and personal development tapes my parents were always playing.
Motivations
When I was ten, I put talcum powder into little bags labelled “magicians dust”, and sold them to my friends for 10 cents each. Clearly I had entrepreneurship (and magick!) on my mind from an early age.
The thing I seem to be best at is coming up with millions of creative and unusual ideas- seriously, it's like I'm channelling the information from somewhere.
When trying to decide on a career, I remember thinking “I wish I could just make money from coming up with ideas”. Well, I recently learned that this is what Entrepreneurship is all about. Hooray!
I also have several years experience working in numerous sales and customer service positions. After years of unhappiness working in a boring (non-creative) corporate environment, I realised that I needed an alternative source of income.
Future Aspirations
In order to develop successful creative
projects within the Creative Industries, I require good business, marketing,
and people skills.
Some day I hope to own my own company, and
employ other talented creative professionals for various projects.
